Here's some photos from the trip Ma Yan, Tamarine, and I took to China in May 2006. This was Tammy's fist trip to China and we spent most of the two weeks in Jiaozuo with Yan's family. Tammy was 18 months old on the trip and she had a lot of fun, mostly playing with her cousin Ren Tong.
Our trip overlapped with the May 1st holiday so Yan's sisters Ma Yanjun and Ma Ying were able to come home and spend some time with us as well. We spent one day visiting Yan's father's family and then Yan's mother's family near Jiaozuo. On another day we visited Shaolin Temple, a few hour cab ride from Yan's home.
Ma Yan, Ma Yanjun, Ma Ying, and I took an over night train to Xi'an to see the terracotta warriors and walk around the city of Xi'an. Tammy stayed back in Jiaozuo with Laolao, Ma Rui, and Ren Tong. The only other day trip was to Yun Tai Shan, a large park outside of Jiaozuo. Only Yan and I went there and Ma Rui got to stay home with Tammy again.
A lot of the times on the photos are off. The day is usually correct, but I forgot to adjust the time on the camera when I first landed and then it somehow got screwed up again part way through the trip. Some of the photos were also taken with Ma Ying's new camera and I didn't realize she hadn't set the time or date on it. Next trip I'll be less trusting.
